Is AI coming for your job?

Learn how to use AI to streamline work, boost creativity, and amplify human connection—without fearing it will replace you.

Stop Trying to AI-Proof Your Business

Why “AI-proofing” your business is the wrong move — and what to do instead

I’ve always been an early adopter. Change doesn’t intimidate me — it energizes me. If there’s a beta to join, I’m there. If there’s a product update or a new tool making waves, I’m already exploring it.

So watching AI weave into everyday life has been fascinating. I’ve found a hundred practical uses: sitting in my garden, hands covered in dirt, asking which of the too-many plants I bought would survive in the shade; standing over crumbly pasta dough and asking what I did wrong (and how to fix it); searching for a unique 12th anniversary gift and being handed the perfect idea — a star named after us.

From the moment I considered how AI might impact my business, fear never entered the picture. I knew I’d been handed an extraordinary tool — one that would change everything — and my role was to learn how to master it.

From Hours of Headache to 20 Minutes of Tweaking

One of my clients used to dread her weekly newsletter. It was hours of brainstorming, drafting, editing, formatting, and scheduling. An entire afternoon, every week, consumed by a task that always felt heavier than it should.

We built her a custom GPT trained in her voice, her audience, and her style. Now, she feeds it her main ideas, and it produces a ready-to-go draft with subject lines, article summaries, and formatting suggestions. All she does is review, tweak, and approve.

What once felt like a slog is now a streamlined 20-minute process — and her engagement rates have gone up, thanks to the consistency and quality she can now maintain without burning out.

The Question Everyone’s Getting Wrong
The common question is, “How do I make sure AI doesn’t take my business?”

The better question — the one that opens real possibility — is: “How do I become the person who uses AI so effectively, no one can imagine working without me?”

That mindset shift moves you from playing defense to building an advantage no one else can match.

AI Is the Internet All Over Again — Only Faster
Think back to when the internet became part of daily life. Email, iTunes, Google — they didn’t just change how we worked, they rewired everything in a few short years.

AI is that shift, accelerated. Soon, it will manage calendars, draft proposals, analyze competitors, and run workflows from start to finish. The dividing line won’t be AI versus humans — it will be humans who know how to use AI versus humans who don’t.

And as AI takes over execution, what’s purely human becomes even more valuable: traveling to meet someone in person, leading a live workshop, having a conversation that goes deeper than the surface, collaborating creatively in real time. These moments can’t be automated — and that’s exactly why they’ll matter more.

What Happens When You Direct Instead of Compete
When my client handed the mechanics of her newsletter to AI, she gained more than time. She gained the mental space to think strategically — to refine her offers, build relationships, and create new products.

Her workload lightened, her marketing sharpened, and her audience responded. That’s the difference between competing with AI and directing it.

Four Shifts to Make Before Everyone Else Catches On
1. Become the Director, Not the Doer
AI is the hands; you’re the brain. Your value lies in seeing the whole system and letting AI handle the execution.

2. Double Down on Human-Only Skills
Empathy. Trust-building. Intuition. Pattern recognition. These aren’t “soft skills” anymore — they’re the differentiators.

3. Own the Prompting Process
Know exactly how to tell AI what you need — and how to turn its output into something that resonates with real people.

4. Create Irreplaceable Experiences
Content is infinite now. Connection isn’t. Transformation happens in rooms, in conversations, and in shared moments.

Roles You Haven’t Heard of Yet — But Will
In the near future, we’ll see roles like:

AI Relationship Managers — keeping brand voice consistent across tools

Digital Experience Architects — designing how people interact with AI

Synthetic Reality Producers — building immersive, AI-driven environments

Human-AI Collaboration Specialists — perfecting the handoff between humans and machines

Consciousness Integration Consultants — helping people maintain their sense of purpose as AI takes on more of their lives

The people stepping into these roles will be the ones experimenting now, not avoiding the technology.

Your Choice
You can spend your energy building walls around what you see as “human work” and hope AI doesn’t climb over them. Or you can become so skilled at directing AI that people seek you out — and pay a premium — because you’re that effective.

The future belongs to those who let AI amplify their humanity. Stop resisting. Start directing.
